The path to an informed decision
A task brings specialists together. The digital twin tests options. The engineer makes the decision.
Task conditions
Define what needs changing, what to compare against and which changes are permitted.
Select a stage to follow the task
Task conditions
Define what needs changing, what to compare against and which changes are permitted.
Agent analysis
Examine the task from different engineering perspectives and prepare options to test.
Digital twin calculation
Check the consequences and constraints of each option within the model’s scope.
Engineering assessment
Compare impact, costs and feasibility. The engineer makes the decision.
Stage input, action and output
- Input
- Task and baseline operation
- What happens
- Define what needs changing, what to compare against and which changes are permitted.
- Output
- Agreed comparison conditions
What to agree before calculation
The outcome criteria, baseline operation and permitted changes. If data is insufficient or the task is outside the model’s scope, the conditions need to be refined. Available agents and calculations depend on the project.
02 / Initial conditions
Context first Then calculation
Three inputs for a meaningful comparison of options.
- 01Task and criteria
- Which decision needs to be made and which metrics should be used to compare options.
- 02Measurements and operating state
- Available measurements, tests, operating conditions and equipment information, including the time period and data quality limitations.
- 03The model and its boundaries
- Which processes the twin represents, which measurements it is checked against, and which operating conditions it supports.
03 / Reviewing the result
Behind every comparison — evidence you can check
Check the baseline operation, feasibility of the change and the basis for choosing.
Increase production. What should we check?
Below is the review logic, not calculation results for a real asset.

- Source data and operating conditions
- Assumptions and model boundaries
- Comparison results
- Limits of application
The materials are agreed for each task. The engineer decides whether to change asset operation.
04 / Preparation and implementationFrom your task to working with your asset
Getting started with your asset: select a pilot, assess readiness and agree on a path to use.
- 01TaskPilot
Select a pilot
Work with your team to define the asset, task and success criteria for the pilot.
Stage outcomePilot scope and criteria - 02MaterialsReadiness
Assess readiness
Review available data and models, identify required changes and access boundaries.
Stage outcomePreparation and connection plan - 03PilotAssessment
Review the pilot together
Examine results with engineers and compare them against the agreed criteria.
Stage outcomeAgreed limits of application - 04TeamApplication
Organise the work
Define roles, usage procedures and how outcomes will be assessed in operation.
Stage outcomeOperating procedure
Timelines, integrations and model updates are assessed after reviewing the task and asset materials.
05 / Practical questions
Before our first conversation
Do we need an existing digital twin?
First, we assess the available models and their suitability for the selected task. Preparation or updates are scoped individually for your asset.
What data will be needed?
It depends on the scenario. Initially, we discuss available measurements, test results, equipment information and calculation models. The exact list follows once the task is defined.
Does the system make decisions on its own?
The system performs analysis and prepares options with supporting assessments. The responsible engineer makes the final decision.
How do we assess the value?
Agree on the baseline and outcome metrics in advance, then compare the selected scenario against them. No universal percentage improvement is assumed without asset data.
What should we prepare for a demo?
Describe the engineering task and what currently makes it difficult. There is no need to share operational data beforehand. We can discuss the required models and review criteria at the meeting.
Next step
Let’s discuss your task
We will demonstrate a system workflow and discuss its suitability for your asset.
